The Bears invited safety Glenn Earl to there three day mini-camp and wound up signing him to a contract today.Earl, 28, joins only the second team of his career.
He was a fourth round pick in 2004 by the Houston Texans out of Notre Dame.
The problem with Earl, is hasn't played a single game since 2006.
The upside with Earl, is that he was a very good player before unfortunate injuries hit him.
Earl played in the preseason in 2007, but was injured in the last exhibition game against the Bears in a collision with Cedric Benson. Earl suffered a Lisfranc separation on his left foot.
This guy will add much needed depth at safety, but who knows if he can stay healthy.
I mean this guy has played in less games than Mike Brown over the last two seasons.
From 2004-2006, Earl has played in 37 games, making 31 starts, recording 155 tackles, three interceptions and two sacks.
The Bears could look like genius's if this signing works out, I mean Earl did play for the Bears new secondary coach Jon Hoke in Houston.
But, who knows he might not even make the team.
