Bengals Sign Ex-Bear Tank Johnson

According to John Clayton of ESPN, the Cincinnati Bengals have signed former Bear and Cowboy Tank Johnson to a one-year deal.

The ex-Bear joins a former Bear, Cedric Benson and lawbreaker/WR Chris Henry.

Maybe they should add QB Michael Vick to the squad. While they're at it, sign Pacman Jones, too.

Jay Cutler Wants Plaxico On the Bears

I was listening to 670 The Score in Chicago the other day and they said that Ex-Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has been contacted by Bears QB Jay Cutler.

Plaxico Burress was at the Final Four on Saturday to watch his college team the Michigan State Spartans put a whooping on the Connecticut Huskies.

Zack Zaidman of 670 The Score saw Plaxico during the game and according Zaidman, Jay Cutler sent Ex-Giant Plaxico Burress a text message reading "they could use him in Chicago."

Plaxico sent a text back saying he liked the deep dish pizza in Chicago

I don't see the Bears going after Plaxico Burress, even though he was the saviour in Super Bowl 42.

He has made some horrible decisions lately, including the most known mistake, shooting himself in the foot.

Plaxico Burress needs to clear the felony weapons charge that he got himself into.

If Plaxico can make the charges into only a misdemeanor, he would probably only serve four months.

With all the negatives known about Plaxico, there are many positives.

The upside is Plax is a big receiver standing at 6-5 and having started 128 games, having 8,000 yards receiving, and 55 touchdowns in nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers (5) and New York Giants (4).

Last season Plaxico had his worst season since his rookie year, by playing in only 10 games, catching 35 balls, having 454 yards receiving and catching four touchdowns.

Even with all the talent that comes with Plaxico, the Bears will most likely say no to Plaxico because of the legal problems he has gotten himself into.

I mean come on look at former 1st round bust Cedric Benson and DT Tank Johnson, they were both given second chances and finally saw there way out of Chicago after being stupid once again.

Tank Johnson Returning to the Bears?

Is it possible that Tank Johnson could play for the Chicago Bears again?

I don't know.

It's defiantly a long shot.

The Bears drafted Johnson in the 2nd round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

In three years (2004-2006) with the Bears, Tank Johnson played in 46 games, recorded 63 tackles and nine sacks.

The Bears released him after he found himself in trouble with the law too often.

In two years (2007-2008) with the Cowboys, Tank played in only 24 games and recorded 33 tackles and 3 sacks.

The Bears could make this move, just because defensive tackles Tommie Harris and Dusty Dvoracek have been disappointing the last couple of seasons.

The other defensive tackles on the Bears' roster are Anthony Adams, Marcus Harrison and Matt Toeaina.

This probably won't happen, but it's a possibility.

The Bears could probably get him cheap.

The teams that I see signing Tank Johnson would be the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, or the St. Louis Rams.
