The last time the Bears played both Super Bowl participants from the previous season as they will in 2009 when they face the Steelers and Cardinals was 1991.
Next season will mark the eighth time the Bears have played both Super Bowl teams from the previous year.
They are 4-12 overall in those games and have lost six straight dating back to 1991 when they defeated the reigning champion New York Giants 20-17 at Soldier Field.
The Bears have never hosted both Super Bowl participants from the previous season at Soldier Field and have never defeated both Super Bowl teams from the previous year in the same season.
IAlso, this coming season will mark the first time that the Bears have ever played all four of the teams that reached the conference championship games the previous year.
They’re the only NFL team to do this in 2009.
